Well, given its only ONE extra bone they're talking about, we might be about to learn an exciting new theory about why "boner" became another term for an erection.

...huh, I somehow never even heard of this. Despite definitely being a Fox weekends kid.

Well, I know my next thing to binge.

They're counting on the parents then blaming the government.

Not theirs, of course, though I have doubts they have a plan in place for what to do if loudly saying "no, it was the Democrats!!!" doesn't work.

...well, if the machine hallucinations help enhance the high, it'll be the one time that particular tendency has been a good thing.

Wild thing for Matty to say when it's a running "joke" (because, sadly, its more accurate than it should be) that the vast majority of our regulations are written in blood.

Nobody's out here drafting legislation on this stuff for funsies, it's because it poisons and kills people.

...Bill sounds like he's been watching (and misunderstanding) too many nature documentaries and thinks you can just translate that 1:1 to human behavior.

We don't work that way.

Complete shot in the dark, but my guess is it has something to do with Trump & Co's unwritten "never admit we lost" rule.

It was all spectacle to begin with, he just thought they could get away with it.
November 19, 2025 at 5:27 PM
If I had to guess, it isn't going to be too long before he points to this as "fulfilling his promise" to simplify tax filing while simultaneously not mentioning all the other shit. And, given MAGA's track record so far, will likely selectively prosecute anyone this change fails.
November 19, 2025 at 2:38 AM
That he's already had at least two separate overhauls of the tax system this year, and I was puzzled why you were acting as though this change was somehow unrelated to or disconnected from what he's already done.
November 19, 2025 at 2:36 AM
They don't, but are you under the impression the Trump administration hasn't been making changes already, or...?
November 18, 2025 at 6:40 PM
The more convoluted it is, the more ways there are for the rich to obscure just how wealthy they are and how much they have to pay.

It's usually the main driver for decisions like this, but Trump's absolutely gonna treat selective prosecution as a bonus.
November 18, 2025 at 6:34 PM
Now seems like a good time to mention one of the youtubers I follow has a Patreon with its own price tier dedicated to "if you pay me this, I will shut up"

Play it right, and you've only gotta make one person Big Mad.

Or exhibition match, as the case may be, but I could have sworn most of these celebrity boxing matches usually involved a charity of some kind.
November 18, 2025 at 6:40 AM
Not a lawyer, so figured I'd ask one:

Any chance it's one of those things that's kinda/sorta legal in the sense that if they bill it as a charity event people just kinda look the other way at the outcome being determined beforehand?

Like I'm not even sure if they advertised it, despite shoving it over onto their extra channel (Disney XD, don't know if that's still a thing). And then they canned it with the excuse that there wasn't enough money in merch sales, but never actually released any.
November 18, 2025 at 6:32 AM
Y'know, I never actually looked while I still had it active. But I'd say it's a 50/50, since Disney was.....*weird* with that show.
November 18, 2025 at 6:30 AM
It's not live-action, but I feel obligated to ask if you've checked out Motorcity. Because the whole thing is just...you know how you can just look at animation and tell the people involved were having a blast?

The whole thing's like that. And also delightfully absurd.
November 18, 2025 at 6:17 AM
Great, now anytime I see one self-destructing I'm gonna have to say they're having a Voltorb moment.
November 18, 2025 at 5:26 AM
Both incidents really should be case studies in their own right because we'd be living in a very, very different world if either of these men had just decided to half-ass it that day. Critical thinking from ONE DUDE avoided nuclear war. Twice.
November 18, 2025 at 2:55 AM
(it was a soviet sub during the Cuban Missile Crisis, to fire the thing required three officers to sign off and provide their keys, the other guy I'm thinking of was the third who decided "I am not gonna be the guy who starts World War III on his own, call the fucking higher ups")
