Have you changed your company's footer to 2025 yet? It's already February! 😂
Never Have Outdated Footer Dates Again
Service degradation: Our API is occasionally returning 2024 instead of 2025. Our intern is investigating and working on a fix. We apologize for any inconvenience and would appreciate if you could…

🧰 Tech you /probably/ weren't using Part 65

WebCrypto! No, not the coins.

Your browser has support for native cryptography operations where before, you had to bundle a bigger, much chunkier library.

If you're working with browser data that needs to be encrypted, adopt the interface now!

Feeling FOMO with AI?

Curious about Phi 4, Llama 3, Deepseek, or Mixtral?

You can run your own LLM in your local machine via ollama.com

Pair that up with Open WebUI or Typing Mind and you won't have to shell out $20 to Anthropic or OpenAI 😉
Ollama
Get up and running with large language models.

Thinking of building your idea into a reality?

It seems simple until you start.

You wont be just writing code.

You’re going to balance features, fix bugs, handle customers, and marketing!

The real challenge is figuring out what to focus on. Take it day by day!

It's a marathon, not a sprint!

🧰 Tech you haven't used Part 53

Server-Sent Events or known as SSE is a simple way to push real-time updates from your server to browser without the overhead of websockets!

It's underutilized but perfect for apps like dashboards or push notifications.

Node 23 introduces native support for Sqlite!

Upgrade your node version via nvm through

`nvm install 23`

Consider State Machines next time you try to solve a problem

It's just data flow diagrams!

State machines are great in communicating what a system does through different stages of signals and conditions

Product and Engineering teams, consider XState or Spring Statemachine in your next project

The overall value you get from an LLM usually don't come from the engine itself, but the prompts that produced the output you liked.

"how did they generate this in midjourney?"
"how did they describe that for sora?"
"how did they generate an app from a single user prompt?

Lovable, v0, Bolt. Even those who have zero coding experience can create apps that usually take dozens of engineers weeks to deliver.

It won’t replace traditional software engineering most definitely.

Good starting points for internal tools though, dont you think?

NIST has published draft IR 8547 to emphasize the urgency of replacing quantum vulnerable algorithms and safeguard sensitive data against future quantum threats.

I'd be curious to see the first proof that RSA and ECDSA can be cracked.

Remember that you know the 80/20 rule!

20% of the work contribute to 80% of the outcome.
20% of your customers generate 80% of the revenue.
20% of the topic you are studying provides 80% of the value.

20% of your efforts result to 80% of your achievements.

Focus on where it counts 🚀

✨ GPT Pro Tip

Want to polish your product and design docs. Use ChatGPT 4o

Need to translate your pseudocode to a prototype. Use Claude 3.5 Sonnet

It's a good investment to subscribe to pro on one these, but the free tier limits are generous!

Node.js - If you want to get rid of unused dependencies from your source code, see if there are updates available, or just be informed of any vulnerabilities.

`npx analyze-dependencies`

An amazing offer from basecamp. I love that they've changed their pricing to account for those who just want a no frills project management tool.

Have a go if you are looking at working on a special project this year.

Basecamp will be refreshing for you.

The dead internet theory is now a reality!

For some odd reason, meta is making this real.

Next time you're in your on here, be skeptical of who you are engaging with.
