This is how Russian colonialism works. They’ve done it repeatedly. In the Baltic region, there’s still hundreds of thousands of Russian settlers. In Ukraine. In Caucasus. In Siberia. It’s amazing how they still try to cast themselves as “anti-colonial”: Russia is Europe’s last colonial power.

Never thought I’d say this: but Trump is right. EU said in 2022 we’d stop being dependent on Russian energy. We’re failing. True, we’re not buying oil any more -but we’re still the world’s largest importer of Russian gas, way ahead of China and Turkey. We give more money to Russia than to Ukraine!!
