Nor does she just listen to those views, she gives them a greater importance than legitimate information.

And in spite of what she says, science isn't about listening to different points of views and then making a decision. It's about testing theories - repeatedly - to see if they're valid.

Someone can't handle a disagreement...

Very little of politics is about the ability to give speeches. It might be a minor knock, but even in terms of public exposure, it's a small fraction of a percentage.

Being intimidated by cameras and mikes would be more problematic. They're always on.

Yes, but a speech is monologuing. A debate is more similar to doing an interview. It's interactive.

I disagree. Carney might not have political experience, but he does have considerable experience in high level decision making and explaining those decisions.

PP just spends a lot of time not answering questions.

Nobody. Just like when she's here.

Criminal records, lack of skills, or some other liability that would deem them ineligible for a green card.

Hopefully. These days it should be a given for anyone working with addictions. And it takes very little time.

The supervisors are responsible for ensuring that they know what they're doing and ensuring that they're doing it correctly.

But seeing how widespread the issue is, I suspect that it's something more than just overworked employees.

Peer support workers not only have more training, they also have to have lived experience. I checked for this. You could have literally no knowledge of addictions prior to that 60 hours. WTF?

"People need to be angry" is a correct statement. Subtracting the packaging weight is a basic concept for anyone that sells by weight. Their scales are literally designed to do that.

And they're obviously not doing random checks, which would catch the problem before they hit the consumer.

They don't have an issue wasting money on other things.
January 9, 2025 at 6:04 AM
I think that the real issue that we're facing as a country right now is that people are dissatisfied with the long term impacts of supply-side economics. But it's been in use so long, that most people haven't had the experience of anything else, so they don't believe anything else works.

It has since been cancelled. He was located deceased.

It's still active.

This should be entertaining. I'd be interested in seeing just how creative someone has to get to turn the worship of O&G into an actual unique culture.

I suspect that it'll be more of a case of bringing up things that are normally ignored in the pursuit of O&G.

Not just eastern Canada, but the most opportunistic company in the Atlantic provinces.

Names and identifying information are not going to be released. The only way the general public will learn who any of those involved are is if they're charged.

We have laws - including the Charter - that make it illegal even when it's not classified.
December 29, 2024 at 5:01 AM
Yes you can. Most Albertans are imports from other provinces.

And although our politics does make it more likely to attract the crackpots, most people moved here to work. This includes our large homeless population.

Doing a rough calculation of total tax revenue generated by the two countries divided by the population, our taxes would actually raise almost 17%. 🤔

Sorry. I refuse to give up DST.
December 24, 2024 at 11:02 PM
We always have a fractious environment with no shared understanding of the problem in the general public. Bias confirmation is a big thing.

However, the general public aren't policy makers who should know how to access unbiased research.

Literally no one does a top 3 list while warning about a crisis or dealing with one.

Those warning about a crisis will use everything available. And those dealing with a crisis will look for solutions that have the most immediate impact - even if they're not the underlying reason the crisis exists
