I think it's just another ruse to get information to feed to some org's AI to help train it. No person has the ability to review five years of peoples' lives before granting a visa. I think the tech bros have figured out their AI crap isn't ready for primetime and they're frantic to get it going.

First of all this is idiotic. Second there is likely not enough staff to review this data, much less to make a sound decision as to its significance. My guess is they want to deter visitors. My second guess is they're data mining for AI.
