tech should serve humans, not the other way around. we need to:

1. focus on the "why?" behind AI models, i.e. the actual human benefit

2. be honest about the current state of sparkling statistics -- like @cisco.com's CPO opined on AI agents at the recent #CiscoAI summit fnf.dev/40zt1Id

Compliance is hard, and what I hear from tech leaders is that AI models / LLMs you don't know about makes it even harder.

@cisco.com has thought a lot about this problem, and just launched new inventory & DLP capabilities -- read more ➡️ fnf.dev/4jcw5l7

Thank you to the lovely mortals who attended my Wasm Day talk — “A Love Letter to Isolation” — at KubeCon 🖤

The slides are now up on my site: kellyshortridge.com/slides/A-Lov...

It has everything: nested isolation in nature, modularity in complex systems, and, ofc, the WebAssembly Component Model

can you feel my Kenergy?

this Barbie wrote a book on resilience 💖

I leaned full Barbiecore camp for the showing last night and the energy in the theater was incredible

Barbie contains multitudes. Barbie can be anything. Barbie adapts with self-compassion and curiosity. It’s a feast, go see it.

In today’s episode of Neurodivergent People Attempt Anti-bot Challenges, I failed the “rotate the animal” challenge 3x.

They demand, “rotate the animal to face the direction of the hand.” I originally interpreted that as the animal’s head should face the hand, not the fingers’ direction 😩

videos don’t seem to work? which is sad because I put together an iconic book promo ad for Valentine’s Day that Must Be Seen in the thirst thread

but a pic of me in the Oops I Did It Again catsuit holding my cat’s bird TV tablet displaying my new book cover must suffice for now

the book is a nerd fest about making cybersecurity not suck and why software resilience is the new sexy hotness (link in bio)

to appease the thirsty mortals here’s another pic with the previous book which was actually called a report for reasons but let’s be real you’re here for the hot nerd energy

I’ve been told to post here as this is where bluesky horny jail is found

so, ok thirsty mortals, should I redo this pic but licking the new book I wrote instead? y/n

as a software person I can confidently say that software is witchcraft, like explain this comment in the Linux kernel as if it doesn’t belie an arcane curse:

“The upshot is that it is basically impossible to use these APIs correctly.”

I’m literally tingling with excitement about my first book signing today but also to hand out the ridiculously adorable new Chaos Kitty stickers.

We have Chaos Kitty catching a bug! Levitating planets! Doing a science with beakers! They’re here, they’re queer, and ready to chaos engineer!

this is Geralt of Rivia (aka Boopkin) depicted in a regal slumber on my desk while I reviewed my book for the last time

watercoloring is my “do nothing” restorative activity and I highly recommend it — feels like a totally different part of my brain being used and a low stakes challenge. worst case you get something hilariously derpy, like this birb / orb I created awhile ago.

I suppose a selfie of me with an Enigma machine is as fine an intro as any.

My mortal name is Kelly Shortridge. I’m trying to drag cybersecurity out of the dark ages and I wrote a book about software resilience that just came out: https://www.securitychaoseng.com/

I write and think a lot.
