Mine was rechargeable, but the batter would only last about 4 hours so it would die on long road trips. My sister had one of the battery powered ones that she would use to listen to mostly Disney Channel songs lol

Even if people want a device solely for music, there’s a lot more affordable options for mp3 players than an iPod. Growing up I had a $20 thumb sized mp3 that I used for 2 years and would download music using Limewire
