So, someone posts misinformation and the community supports misinformation and endorses the misinformation. Therefore, misinformation becomes truth because the misinformation is believed in that community. Fascinating/frightening or both?

I need to learn how to respond in a meaningful way if someone uses that in my presence. Maybe “ Will you repeat that?” Followed by silence or “I can’t believe you said that out loud”…
