So I think it's time now
Time to reveal myself
I am the Messiah
I am the Messiah
Yes, I think you heard me right
I am the Messiah
I was gonna wait till next year
Build up the suspense a little
Make it a really big surprise
But I could not resist
It's like when you got a really big secret

My 74th read of 2025 is Memoirs Found Inside a Bathtub by Stanislaw Lem. Written in 1961, it’s about an underground dystopia dedicated to rooting out traitors, yet somehow very funny.

My 73rd read of 2025 is a biography of William Henry Harrison by Gail Collins. I wish it had more depth but then again, maybe you don’t need details on a 31 day President.

My 72nd read of 2025 is Turkey and the Wolf by Mason Hereford with JJ Goode. A recipe book that was lovely to read but will probably never make anything. I borrowed this book from the library, which kind of blew my mind, that I could borrow cookbooks. I feel like I unlocked a life hack.

My 71st read of 2025 is Operation: Sahara by William Meikle. I’ve said it before, but I will say it again: If you wanna read about non-toxic masculinity soldiers fighting against horrible monsters without the fascist overtones of most military fiction, then this is your series.

My 70th read of 2025 is The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I never read it in High School and it’s been in the news a lot so I figured I would dive in. It was surprisingly timeless.

My 69th (nice) read of 2025 is Paranoia WMD. This was the one XP supplement missing from my collection and is now super cheap on drivethru. It might be the darkest collection of adventures that I’ve ever read, but also had a part that made me laugh out loud.

My 68th read of 2025 is a reread of Service, Service from the Paranoia XP line. Just an absolute dense joy to read.

My 67th read of 2025 is a reread of the Paranoia XP RPG by Allen Varney. This is one of those games that is just fun to read. Although, I am considering finally running a campaign like I’ve been threatening to for a decade.

My 66th read of 2015 is Stay Alert by Allen Varney. I absolutely love the Paranoia RPG and I treasure the tiny scraps of fiction that have come out over the years.

Young people don't know how easy they have it!!! When I was young, the only thing I had to goon to was Venus Swimwear magazine. Even though I could buy this at my local quickie Mart, my parents banned me from having it lol

My 65th read of 2025 is a reread of Thomas Pynchon’s The Crying of Lot 49. It’s been nine years since I read this book and I enjoyed it more this time around because the madness of the current world feels like an introductory course for this book.

First purchase of Kinky Kollege.

A rare photo of all three cats together.

My 64th read of 2025 is Magic Realms: The art of Fighting Fantasy. The fighting fantasy books were a huge inspiration to me and it’s nice to have a book collecting all of the wonderful art.

Trying to write and my cat has other ideas.

My 63rd read of 2025 is Operation Yukon by William Meilke. Another fun book of Scottish special forces versus monsters.
October 7, 2025 at 2:28 AM
My 62nd read of 2025 is Cherry Ames: Camp Nurse. I found this in an antique store and picked it up out of curiosity. A pleasant young reader book about a mystery solving nurse. Utterly chaste lol
October 6, 2025 at 2:25 AM
My 61st read of 2025 is Operation North Sea by William Miekle. Part of the S-Squad series. If you like military squad versus monsters, without the toxic masculinity, then this series is for you.

My 60th read of 2025 is Knockout by Jac Franklin. It’s a M/F smutty romance novel about professional wrestlers. Sweet, breezy, and well versed on professional wrestling reality.

My 59th read of 2025 is a reread of Heaven’s Reach by David Brin. The finale of the Uplift series is a giant tone shift and the rare sci-fi novel that might have too many ideas. I enjoyed it more my second time around but maybe I’m more sympathetic to a writer who is obviously wanting to move on.

My 58th read of 2025 is a reread of Infinity’s Shore by David Brin. Book 5 of the uplift series. A cruel narcissistic species terrorizes a planet and their population. Considering everything happening now this reads a lot differently than when I did back in the late 90s.
September 25, 2025 at 9:49 PM
My 57th read of 2025 is a reread of Brightness Reef by David Brin. It’s book four of six at the uplift series and I highly recommend it.
