Sometimes people refer to humans as orcs, but it's an offensive appellation towards specifically Russian people that was coined around the time the Ukranian war popped off.

Oh this hole goes deep Pat, almost infinite depth. You will have your fill and then some

Actually, I heard those are exclusive to Pheebo, though subscription prices for it are very fair. At $29.99 a month, it's unprecedented value.

Oo, yeah that's a good one

Sometimes, though it's less about getting the best experience and more that the hundreds of mods I have for Stardew all break on a new update. With a bunch of broken mods with a save that has so many dependencies for those mod, it basically makes my save unsalvageable until those mods update.

It's not really the same. The base building elements are there, but they feel more like dressing. The combat seems to be the primary focus, very unlike Stardew where combat is a tertiary priority. I don't know, good game regardless, will definitely be picking up the expansion when it's out in 2 days

It also feels tonally and aesthetically consistent, and congruent with the base game. Some mods don't quite fit the internal logic of the game, or clash with it aesthetically. SDV Expanded genuinely feels like a natural extension of the base game and you'd be forgiven for not knowing which is which

Ooooh, they fucking GOT you. I was not expecting you to descend so deep into this so quickly

It IS super fun, though it's a bit grindy. It's probably not the best Stardew like, but it was absolutely worth checking out for the humor alone.

If you're looking for a Stardew-like that's bordering on parody, Graveyard Keeper is worth checking out. It's not the best of these, but it was unique enough in it's presentation that I stuck with it 'til the end. DLCs added a ton

Healthy expression of anger and hatred is a good thing actually, it's just another tool in the tool box that sometimes gets misused. Love me some righteous fury

Banana peel that leads straight into a wood chipper while Yakety Yak plays in a lobby somewhere nearby

I uh what? I'm not trying to dictate how he plays, I was just sharing a mod Pat might be interested in and joking around. He's planning on playing the Steam version next time, so he was sourcing from some of us mods that might be good to install.

Okay hear me out, you don't need any mod the first go around, BUT what about this derpy pugs mod which replaces the default dog with pugs? www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalle...
Derpy Pugs 2
Replaces default dog with a pug (fawn, black, abyss or silver) and pug sounds.

Yeah it's a bit overtuned, I got a hundred or so mods on Stardew and that isn't one of them. I prefer the CJB cheat menu, which is useful even outside of giving yourself resources, sometimes it's nice to be able to pause time to finish watering plants so you don't fuck up when you can harvest crops.

See I was always more a fan of the Rune Factory elements like dungeon crawling versus growing my farm, mining is a chill way to kill time and the combat has at least a little juice so it's not completely boring, and there's a lot of enemy variety

Mistria feels like it's made by people with thousands of hours playing Stardew. All the little things that kinda bug me about Stardew are addressed in Mistria. Like you never have to worry about the general store being unusable in Mistria. Hell, the people don't even need to be there, it's so nice
January 12, 2026 at 9:09 PM
That still blows my mind because Stardew can be very relaxing.. but never like consequence free or without a layer of stress as you manage resources and try to grow you burgeoning farm. It's cozy adjacent, but the game has combat. The combat isn't like amazing, but there is a degree of danger mining
