This part of Stapleton Road is currently cordoned off, between roughly Clifton Place and Armoury Square, following two incidents with knives. One person taken to hospital. If you are trying to go through the area this afternoon I would recommend an alternate route if possible. #Bristol

We heard from experts in the field, including from the centre in Glasgow already saving lives!

And saw very moving artwork made by the families and friends of those lost to drug overdoses - people who might still be here if they'd been offered a harm reduction approach, rather than a punitive one.

It's been a little over a year since I got elected in Lawrence Hill, and I thought it might be helpful to list out what Yassin and I have been up to!

If you think I've missed anything important, either in the to-do list or the already-done list, let me know!

Travelling Light, a youth theatre charity in my ward, are almost at their fundraising goal - can you help them get there?

They do great work, with 100s attending the recent Winter Lights event. All children deserve the chances and development that #theatre provides!

Going into foster care, even when done well, is always traumatic and life-changing. If families can get the support they need early enough, more children will be able to stay at home.

Hiring more family support workers is a key part, so I'm so glad we'll be investing in this! #fostercare #Bristol

At Full Council on Tuesday I also brought questions about Barton House and what options are available for residents who need rehoused.

A report is being drafted. I will keep pushing for residents' banding to be reviewed if possible, considering the trauma they've been through. #Bristol #BartonHouse

Earlier this week Cllr Yassin Mohamud and I got to see some amazing staff and volunteers in action (despite the weather), planting trees near the new play kit in Newtown! Lovely to think of kids hopefully enjoying both the playpark and the trees in years to come! #Bristol #LawrenceHill #Newtown
