Hold on, I'm going to need a diagram. (ugh, the alt text for this is going to be a pain, isn't it? you're welcome.)

Okay, so beyond using OTLP/proto there's some other things you should do with large data volume. For instance, use AWS PrivateLink both to talk to Honeycomb and to S3.

I’m a big fan of Bitdrift’s approach. Stash rich telemetry locally in a ring buffer, then ship it only when you need it.
Today we are thrilled to launch built-in app crash reporting capabilities inside @bitdriftio Capture! 🚀 You can read more about it in the linked blog, but a short 🧵 on why this launch makes existing mobile observability tools obsolete. 🌶️

Honeycomb has always seemed well suited for wide events, but ClickHouse now looks like a strong fit too.

I’m thrilled that HyperDX v2 now supports Event Deltas, the feature known as BubbleUp in Honeycomb, which I found incredibly useful.
This is the advantage of adopting wide events.

> In AWS, intra-zone network latency can be as low as 100–250 µs, hundreds of times faster than S3’s ~500 ms tail latency.

ClickHouse Cloud now has a distributed cache for object storage: shared, low-latency, and built for speed. This post dives into the architecture, why it matters, and how it performs.

Inspired by a convo on here between @p-y.wtf, @martindotnet.bsky.social, and myself, I finally wrote down my thoughts on why it's imperative for mobile #observability to be user-centric, and what the heck that actually means.

Yeah, o11y on mobile is different. Here's a bunch of words about that.
On the Real Subject of Observability on Mobile
Lets get something straight. Observability isn't the same as monitoring. Yes, both are powered by telemetry collected from production that are crunched down into metrics, shown as some sort of time-se...
