I really, really wanted him to step down at the end of this term. Two terms is enough, even without the fraud issue. I'm in about the same place as him in terms of desired policies, but he hasn't been an effective administrator. Would prefer Steve Simon, who appears to have done a great job as SOS.

I'm so sorry.

Then learn to write clearly. Relative to the U. S. population as a whole, the number of people who want to live in Brooklyn is not "huge" or "most". It's a rounding error.

Would more people choose NYC if it were more affordable, yes. Most is a wild, wild overstatement. If my choice was between living in Brooklyn the rest of my life and shooting myself in the head I would seriously consider suicide.

I have been trying to figure out what the actual issues are. The reporting is terrible. Just the same comments from the same people, but no actual analysis of any issues or what the implications are.

I feel like I read one time that current Sulzberger's dad ran around with Roy Cohn, but I can't find where I read that. I did a Google search with nothing coming up. You can pay forms to scrub for you though. It may go back further than Epstein. The NYT has always been deferential to him

I am so, so sorry. It hurts so much. I had to put my beloved Shoes down last December. I still cry. Hugs to you.

Thank you so much for running. You were my first choice and the first mayoral candidate I was excited to vote for in a long time. Your vision for the city was inspiring. Thank you again.

Thank you so much for running. It was great to have a candidate who so clearly loves our city with such a positive vision.

I love how his nose squishes up.

Remember his daughter saying away from him touching her, and needing to be hospitalized for a mental health emergency? I would not assume this is Ted just covering for his friends.

I am so so sorry Darin. What a terrible day.

I don't follow state politics so closely, so these might be terrible suggestions. I wish John Marty were younger. He has a long history of advocating for clean government. Maybe a moderate outstate senator like Nick Frenz? Or Steve Simon?

And now the FBI serves warrants for another $100m fraud in a program DHS runs. That's like what, the fourth or fifth one? Personally and policy-wise I like Walz, but I hope he and Ellison don't run again. At best they've been ineffective at a core govt function. I don't want to have to defend this.

This is wonderful by the way. I used to read you in the City Pages back when you could grab them at any corner. Feels a little weird to be talking to you.

I don't know how we even move forward as a state. I can't even talk to a Republican right now. How are our Democratic elected officials supposed to work with people too cowardly and too unprincipled to even speak up and say it's wrong. They could stop this but won't. I won't ever forgive them.
June 16, 2025 at 1:08 AM
I had a sadomasochistic moment and looked at Jake Tapper on the bad place. He had links to a few MN Republican statements. They're all writing crocodile tears posts and linking to other Republicans, but not a single Democrat. Not one of them is calling out the disinformation. It's disgusting.
June 16, 2025 at 1:00 AM
I won't either. Her and Kari Dziedzic in the same year. What a loss for all of us. And then for it to be this way with all this vile disinformation. I'm grieving for he family and friends especially, but also for all of us.

Sadly, Gilbert was also killed.

The session is over until the fall. They are officially recessed. Nothing will be passing this summer, and the special will be held before session opens again. Dara is correct.

I'm sorry. That's so hard.

My kid was bullied in kindergarten. His love affair with Godzilla started that year. He has consistently been labeled as "sweet" by every teacher he has ever had. Just needs to feel powerful in his mind.

I am so sorry for your loss Danielle. She seems like such a warm, bright, fun-loving presence.
