Thank you. Yeah, I was able to get it off courtlistener but I wish legal journalists or other journalists would just include the document for ease of access and in case it’s not available on RECAP.

Please consider including the actual document when you write something like this. One of my biggest legal journalism pet peeves.

This is one of those games you didn’t even dream you were putting up in the backyard as a kid because it’s too implausible.

Yeah, the 4,657 is probably just the number of die hard Sam Houston State neutral site game season ticket holders.

I always wonder this about pro athletes with names like this because on the one hand you'd think it's obvious but on the other hand the kids who are the most athletic are often the most popular so you'd think they're not getting bullied.

Krugman already has his Nobel Prize. Maybe pitch this to some young economist who is still hungry?

I think you can definitely argue that with Hidalgo and Miles as good as they are it was justified, but that really begs the question how did Notre Dame not get a 1 seed/make an Elite Eight in those two years. Having Citron as your third option and not being able to get out of the Sweet 16 is nuts.

This reminds me of the baseball player Adrian Beltre. When he was hitting and the catcher was about to appeal a check swing he’d appeal it at the same time. Always very funny.

I wasn't muted, didn't have a dog distracting me, and am still confused, but can confirm definitely something something Sabrina's shoes, workers, and Steve Nash.

I think the only way Phee doesn't win at this point is if she has to miss significant time for whatever reason.

I’m skeptical of claims from sources that the league is still losing money at this point. Every league claims this before CBA negotiations and if they’re paying 9% of revenues toward travel and only between 7-9% toward player salaries, where is the rest of that money going? It doesn’t add up to me.

Yeah, definitely agree with this. I don't see why they wouldn't move her if they can.

"let's see if we make it on our own and if not we still had a competitive season and also have a draft lottery pick." Golden State might also have some concerns with what adding a ball dominant player like that could do to their chemistry.

I think it definitely makes sense from Dallas' perspective. I'm not so sure for Golden State or Washington, though. They might figure even with Arike they're at best a bubble playoff team and first round bounce to Minnesota or NY and not think it's worth any kind of pick. I could see the logic of

I think the problem is that the only three teams that could take her salary are Golden State, Washington, and Connecticut, and Connecticut obviously doesn't make sense and the other two might not want to rock the boat/likely don't think they can make a serious run at a title.

Yep. All you need to know to be sure the owners are full of it is that without being required to by the CBA, the league laid out 25M last year for charter flights based on a little public shaming. That’s more than every WNBA player makes COMBINED. The money is there no matter how they hide it.

I think one of the biggest tells that the owners numbers are BS is that, without being required to by the CBA and just based on a slight amount of public pressure, they decided to spend 25M a year on the charter flight program last year which is more than every W player makes COMBINED. Insane.

Yeah, definitely. When I was trying to look more into it one thing that really struck me is that apparently the charter flight program they sprung for last season costs 25 million, which, if accurate, is more than the salary for EVERY PLAYER COMBINED. That's just totally insane.

Ahh, okay. So is the 40/50M number based only on that 40% they're keeping? If so, that seems totally wrong since the 60% they're giving back to investors is still money they are generating.

Yeah, I just have a really hard time buying that that is how much they are ultimately losing when they are getting 200M just from TV alone and every player's salary COMBINED is around or under 20M. I am not economically smart on things like this, but that just seems like something doesn't add up.

Do you know where the 40 million or 50 million loss number that they love citing even comes from?

Honestly been kind of saddened by how similar some of the discourse is on here too on this issue. It's obviously not as bad as I'd imagine it is over there, but no shortage of similar comments in response to like the Athletic's recent article posted here, for instance.
