Thank you for sharing.Such a powerful piece about my favorite Smithsonian.I started going because of Hopper but discovered so much more.James Baldwin‘s art is moving in a way that words can’t describe.Near his art is this plaque which best sums up the American Art Museum and the American experience.

Got one of those myself. It inhabited the office I took over at work, gifted to a former employee and handed down through the generations. Lovingly ignored except for some sprinkles of water now and again. It brings me joy this time of year. 🥰
