I find myself struggling to think of why Veil and Verity would fight like they do And beside Contrive Trinkets for them to squabble over I feel the most reasonably thing I can come up with for now is Veil, in her mind, represents the freedom of choice Verity has always yearned for To be able to set aside duty, set aside wrath, and find comfort wherever one goes To let go of anger and live happy and aimless And she HATES him for it Because as much as she wants that life she knows Curator can not and must not be forgiven And I guess in the end she learns Both things can be true, she can have this duty that compels her and the freedom to relax when it is done And the same for Veil Verity's just a heartless killer to him the exact kind he wants to protect people from When in reality, to him, Verity represents purpose Through her, he learns that there is more to life than sightseeing and the occasional heroics
