I use Obsidian to replace my google docs. It's open source and the community is very helpful. You'll probably need to download some plugins to get it how you want it. Once I got mine configured I haven't looked back!

Such a great and underrated program! It's helped me consolidate my images that were scattered everywhere. 😅
