Fingal: You think you’re funny
(Cue lots of laughter)
Fingal: Can I go to sleep now?
Me: Did you not like Bohemian Catsoday?
Fingal:

Proper laughing here

@anam-alba.bsky.social will continue to work in the community for the community, creating spaces for stories to be heard and for people to come together

I can think of no greater joy at this moment in this rather turbulent world

There’s something profoundly moving about our ancestral belonging; shared history, stories & memories that endure over the years & indeed, centuries

I was reminded of this last night at the first of Anam Alba’s Heritage nights, sharing a passion for Scottish stories, music & song

It was beautiful

I think the world needs more gentleness
I think gentleness is vastly underrated
I think gentleness is everything

Just a little goes a long long way

I tried to clean the house today
I was on a go go go
When stopped abruptly in my tracks
by a dropping low low low
What to do, carry on?
I hardly think that’s wise
So instead I’ve had 57 jelly babies
In the hope my sugars rise

Music sessions always fill me with joy

‘This makes the sound of the sea’
‘Yes, it does’
‘If we add the thunder sound to it then we’d make the sound of a stormy ocean’
‘Yes we would. Would you like to do that?’
‘Yes, I’d like to make that sound effect’

So that’s what we did

Music & imagination ❤️

A little excerpt of Up in the Morning Early by Robert Burns, with the song of the same name I wrote to go with it.

A throw back to rehearsal time with Glasgow Acting Academy last year

Love these young people

I went for a walk today.

I haven't done that in months.

Truth is I haven't been that well for a while.

But I went for a walk and I'm glad I did because I came back and for the first time in ages, I sat at the piano and wrote music. Every piece connected to Robert Burns

'Look up at the moon
You'll hear her whisper
'Go gently, go gently, go gently...'

And gently we go ❤️

Thoughts on an icy, wintry day

'Winter's thaw in waiting be
The cloud will lift
The bud on tree
Soon in springtime
sun to bloom
Take heart, there is hope
E'en in winter gloom'

Someone has been a little poorly lately - cuddles might not fix it all but they certainly help

The wisdom of Fingal

If you would like to hear the use of the word in context then do watch this

From my original song 'Up in the morning early' based on the Burns' poem of the same mane and included in our show Auld Lang Sing - it will make you smile 🎶
