I personally haven't noticed, but yesterday a friend was telling me about this issue, caused by something called geosmin. Apparently the utility has a page on their website about it:

Sidewalk bicycling is a symptom of policy and infrastructure. Just because council claims that our bike network is AAA doesn't make that true, and we know this because bikes on sidewalks

It's a scary thing, and it definitely made me have a think about whether I want to keep cycling around the city, and it makes empathy easy for those who don't have my confidence for riding in the street.

You're a lucky fellow. A week ago, as I was riding down Hollis in the bike lane, I came within a foot of a collision with a large car, whose driver was turning right. I'm also lucky, as this was merely a close call, but one of many issues I've had since starting to commute by bike this summer.

The Uncommon Grounds patio was a hopping place early this afternoon, sure looked like they were open

No, a driver might get mad.

It kind of bothers me the way these times are communicated. In my mind, these closures are entirely happening on Thursdays and Sundays: 23:59:59 is Wednesday, but add a second to get 00:00:00 which is the beginning of Thursday.

Does this Salt+Sol have any connection to the similarly named Salt & Sol that runs out of the Charlottetown Yacht Club?

All tanks, all the time. We could sell off all the library's books to pay for them!
