I’m honestly not seeing an “ideology” at work here. The trans people I know aren’t trying to recruit or control anyone—they’re just trying to live their lives, like the rest of us.

I think I understand what you mean. Not everyone feels naturally drawn to children, and that doesn’t make someone unkind or wrong. But when that connection is missing, it can feel like a door to a particular kind of wonder is closed — the sort that comes from curiosity, honesty, laughter.

I'm still not sure if I've written a trans memoir where my military career and advocacy play supporting roles or a military memoir where my identity journey is a major character arc. I might have done both or something entirely distinct.
