Summary: Three weeks after defeating Doomsday and renouncing his humanity, Clark has adopted a new costume and dedicated himself to protecting Metropolis. Lois returns with no memory of the past three weeks, and is followed by a mysterious woman. Chloe takes refuge inside Watchtower. Oliver is caught in a downward spiral. Zod struggles to control his soldiers as they hide out in the Luthor Mansion with Tess as their prisoner. This is an atypical season opener for Smallville. It promises greatness and intrigue, let's see how much it delivers. Smallville has a tendency to close all the endings and the cliffhangers in the first episode of each season, with the second episode serving as the starting point for the new seasonal plots.

Summary: Clark enlists the help of Bart and Dinah to take down Doomsday…with shocking consequences for everyone involved. It was a disappointing season's final. Rokk comes from the future to warn Clark that he is going to die in a day, and Clark really "dies" at the end of the episode.As soon as Olsen discovered the truth about Clark (the most beautiful scene in the episode in my opinion) it was clear that he would die. The revelation at the end that Olsen is not the iconic Jimmy Olsen from the comics, but rather his older brother angered many.

Summary: Chloe returns and begs Clark to kill Davis, claiming she can no longer keep the beast under control. Tess has assembled a team of meteor freaks, including Plastique, to track down Davis so Clark can kill him. However, things get out of hand once Tess's team discovers she is double-crossing them. My problem with the dark path Oliver seems to be taking is the hypocrisy and self-righteousness Oliver displays. You decided to kill Lex in revenge for the murder of your parents? As questionable as this step is, stand behind it.

Chloe claims he is paranoid. Davis claims he cannot be human without Chloe. Olsen is still angry and his addiction is getting worse. Davis captures Oliver and Olsen and nearly kills Oliver. Clark drags Davis to the fortress with the intention of transporting him to the Phantom Zone. Chloe stops him and escapes with Davis. Is Chloe doing what she does because she's protecting Clark or is she just so deep down that she can't see a thing?

Summary: Lois needs a big story to boost her career, but the Red-Blue Blur proves too challenging for her investigative skills. However, when she rescues Chloe from a mugger, Lois decides to take advantage of the situation and disguise herself as Metropolis' newest hero - Stiletto. Although Clark disapproves, he soon finds himself counting on her help… This entire episode seems to hinge on the viewer's premise: Is Lois the kind of person who would do slightly ethically questionable things to get a story or not? Lois knew it was a mistake to pretend to be a superhero to get a story, otherwise she would have told Clark everything the moment he came into the office and asked her about Stiletto.

Summary: Davis is caught in an explosion and taken captive by Tess, who reveals more about his origins and his destiny as the one fated to kill Clark. This is a retcon episode. Davis continues to murder those he considers criminals, and people begin to notice, even though no one knows where the bodies are (well, no one but Davis). Clark begins to investigate.Tess, probably following the folder Olsen left on her desk in 816, comes to the conclusion that Davis is a dangerous killer, plants a bomb in his car and activates the bomb just as he is sitting comfortably in the car after burying another dismembered body in a field in Smallville.

Summary: At Chloe's birthday party, she makes a wish to be just like Lois, and a beautiful magician named Zatanna grants her wish. The result? Chloe wakes up the next morning looking exactly like Lois. Meanwhile, Clark receives a wish of his own. Happy birthday, Chloe Sullivan. At the end of the episode, Chloe officially becomes the information center for the mini-Justice League, which was expected to happen from the episode 611 Justice in season six. Summary: Davis channels his murderous impulses to dispense his own kind of justice. Jamie, who happens to be involved in one of Davis' murders, becomes his next victim. Chloe, among them, chooses Davis and Jamie leaves her in anger and disappointment. Tess, meanwhile, decides to confront Clark, putting him in a situation where he is alone with her on a plane that is about to crash, hoping that he will expose himself to her. I really, really, really disliked Chloe in this episode. Chloe was great in season four, in season five she was exactly the friend Clark needed, but starting in the second half of season six, something happened.

Linda Lake is the campiest, most annoying villain this show has ever had. She even beats Mikhail Mxyzptlk from season 4 in the annoying part.Lois waited three hours in the rain? Did she really expect him to show up after the first hour? There were no taxis for three hours? Didn't she have a phone on her?

Summary: An explosion at LuthorCorp kills the company's board members and leaves Oliver hospitalized, and Winslow Schott, a vengeful former employee of Oliver's, is the culprit. Clark and Lana work to stop Schott and encounter an old enemy, with devastating consequences. Bottom line: Mission accomplished - Lana Lang has been canonized! The power suit that Lana stole from Lex gave her a status of being more holy than God. The arrogant side that was in Lana from the beginning becomes her most prominent aspect.If in the previous episode Clark did nothing, in this episode his behavior is much worse.

Summary: Clark and Chloe search for Lana, who has it in her head that things will be better between her and Clark if they were on "a more-even keel," and goes off on her own in search of a suit developed by LuthorCorp. that will make her invincible. Bottom line: Facepalm God, what a terrible episode.Let's start with Clark:In the seven and a half years so far, Smallville has taken one step forward and three steps back toward the Superman of the comics, or at least that was the stated direction.

Summary: After John Jones is shot, Clark goes undercover as a police officer to find the culprit and uncovers a conspiracy involving cops. Lana confronts Tess with a shocking truth about Lex. This is a filler episode. There may be progress on the Lex and Tess front, but ultimately it's a filler episode and he's a bit weak.I missed John Jones.John Jones takes his job seriously. He's a cop and a good cop who works alone and chases every criminal to the end even if the criminal is a cop, and he even finds little things to enjoy like the little alien doll hanging from the mirror.

Summary: Three superheroes from the future travel to the past and join Clark in hopes that together they can defeat Brainiac, who has taken over Chloe's body. Bottom line: In Smallville, when it rains trouble, it's usually pours. Chloe has definitely had a busy week. First Brainiac overwrites all her memories with Kryptonian information, then Clark alters her memories making her more vulnerable to Doomsday's attack a week later at her wedding, then Brainiac takes over, the Legion tries to kill her, and now she has to travel to Star City to deal with her injured husband.

Summary: Oliver gets a step closer to finding Lex, but Clark refuses to help for the time being, due to Chloe's special day, while Lois finds she has special feelings for Clark, who has a surprise (or two) waiting for him at the wedding reception. Summary: When Chloe starts losing her memories due to Brainiac replacing them with Kryptonian code, Clark re-builds the Fortress of Solitude so he can ask Jor-El to heal Chloe. Written by Holly Henderson & Don Whitehead How could a woman write this episode?There's only one woman in the episode, and that's Chloe. The other two women are completely marginal - the hospital clerk and the nurse. Lana was already forgotten by Chloe in the teaser, and Lois doesn't appear or mentioned in the episode. The only woman who appears in the episode degenerates into a helpless, hysterical mollusk who is completely dependent on the surrounding men, and it's not like these men are really trustworthy.

Summary: Clark receives a package containing the Fortress crystal, which sends both him and Lois to the Phantom Zone, where they run into Kara. Kara helps Lois escape from the Phantom Zone; unfortunately, Faora, the wife of Zod, escapes as well, and she possesses Lois. This episode is a prime example of everything that's problematic about Smallville: Convenient coincidences. Telling instead of showing. Repeating the obvious and things that were said just a moment ago. Not showing important things in character building. Characters who don't act like themselves. Unfolding a week's worth of plots in a day or two.

Summary: When Jimmy snaps a picture of Clark saving Lois from an oncoming car, makes out a red-and-blue blur on the photo and begins piecing together Clark's double life, Clark panics and turns to Chloe for help. The bottom line: to be a hero, it's not enough to save people, you also have to give them hope. Lois gives Clark a compliment?A second later, Clark saves her.The whole mess would have been avoided if Clark, the moment he noticed Olsen was taking a picture, had sent a heat ray or two towards the camera.

Summary: When a series of gruesome murders plagues Metropolis, Davis confides in Chloe his fears that he might be the one responsible. Clark and Chloe clash when Clark gives John Jones a list of metahumans who have been visiting the Isis Foundation. The bottom line: With so many murderers, death, and violence, something has been lost. The teaser starts with a clear recipe for trouble ahead - a support group, and not just any support group, but one made up of teenagers who also happen to be meteor-infected. The main complaint is that everyone treats them like homicidal psychos, and given the history of the series it's surprising and perhaps even a good sign that only one of them turns out to be the killer.

Summary: After Chloe and Jimmy are kidnapped, Clark and Lois pose as a newly engaged couple to try and find the kidnapper. Footnote: Am I the only one who thinks that cakes with pictures of people are weird and a little creepy? This is an Olsen and Chloe episode, too much Olsen and Chloe. Too much unsubtle subtext that this relationship is doomed. Another relationship doomed because of Clark's secret. It's Olsen cutting the cake right between him and Chloe, all sorts of foreshadowing from previous episodes, it's Lois embarrassing herself at yet another engagement party (and we remember what happened to the couple at the previous engagement party, interestingly enough that episode ended with a kidnapping too).

Summary: Tess orders one of her scientists to do a test on the Fortress crystal, causing the crystal to send out a beacon that draws Maxima, queen of the planet Almerac, to Earth in her search for Clark, whom she believes is her soul-mate. Dr. Groll. Did we miss him?This crystal does weird things this season.Maxima exposes the stupidity of horny men. Then kills them. Oops.Shelby is a dog at this point, not a bitch.When did Lois wake up that she's arriving at the Planet before Clark?
