ooh what sort was it? I haven’t seen any really big spiders in Portugal and now I feel vaguely cheated. TBH it would take a lot to compete with australian huntsman spiders. They also prefer to hang out over beds.

Here’s one that is of personal importance — From Rarotonga. In 1989, the kakerori (Rarotongan Monarch or Flycatcher) was one of the 10 rarest bird species in the world with a declining population of just 29 birds. From the mid 90s to 2020 my father dedicated his life to conserving them.
