But the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments are clear: no person shall be “deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law.” It doesn’t say “citizen.” It says “person.” The Constitution doesn’t get to be optional.

This is all new for Americans, but not for me or anyone else who lived through the forced transformation of a democracy into a dictatorship. Few took Putin's threat seriously enough either. Americans have a much better toolbox to fight with, but must fight with them all, immediately.
