I’ve been blaming my drought on my own burn out rather than the books but, yes, I’m tired of books with a premise but no stakes. I find this especially to be a problem in contemporaries.

I do not ‘carry them around’
But they have their uses such as in paying for services such as yard work, the arborist who checks the maple tree, paying a contractor to fix something, or even the down payment on a car loan, etc.
