The serve was great of course, but some of those running backhands that Reilly Opelka executed against Novak Djokovic were just mind-blowing powerful. Opelka v Perricard in a Brisbane semifinal. Will be interesting to see if we get something beyond “see you in the tiebreakers.”

It’s taken 3 decades of figure skating fandom but I’m *finally* diving deeper into learning how to discern and appreciate the ice dance discipline. Having a neighbor I’ve recently gotten closer to with whom I can utterly nerd out about skating has definitely inspired that.
