Why do economists promote equilibrium of prices? Surely policy needs to focus on another equilibrium all together. One between the forces of the production system breaking down real capital and the forces building it up. No prices, just stewardship. link in comment

The immiseration of US and UK people defies belief. 77 percent of US youth are too unhealthy and unfit to even be conscripted into the armed forces. In Chinese social media they are pitying the poor citizens being forced over the Kill Line. Link in comments.

Let's consider: growth, degrowth or maturity?
Maybe maturity entails degrowth. The focus on Real Capital helps the discussion.

Note that for GHG, greenhouse gasses, the service industry is largest along with construction. What part of the service industries produce all that CO2? From the graph you can see that it is transport, which uses most oil-based fuel.

Now, Sweden keeps tabs on the environmental impact of these industries. See the graph. Mining produces most waste followed by construction. Mining and construction contribute little to GDP. So who, down the supply chain earns the money on the metals, minerals and buildings?

Can simple rule changes will make the supply chain run green, recycled and climate friendly? Study Sweden. First, they collects a lot of statistics in an organised way. For starters, each industry has a one-letter code. The extractive industries are A, agriculture and forestry and B mining.
