Muttering random thoughts into the void
Wouldn't there be more to Gunther's story if Cena passed out.

I don't watch the Fed, but wasn't Gunther's last promo based on how he was going to make Cena give up?

Cena gave up so what else is left for Gunther?

I don't see Cody or Punk dropping their titles soon enough to make this win matter

As a shoot word of the year, I agree with you.

My word of the year opinions were based on content creators.

The IWC is still ablaze with posts explaining the manner in which Cena tapped was infallible in terms of booking.

I don't recall anyone having to justify the booking of Sting's last match.

Sadly, there are a lot of content creators trying to explain that anyone complaining about the finish aren't knowledgeable about the intricacies of wrestling booking.

Call me a mark, but tapping in the way that he did kind of spits in the face of all the make a wish kids he seemingly inspired.

John Pollock 100% had the right take in his comments about the in arena fan reaction to the match result.

With the coin they dropped to attend, no one at home has any right to complain about how they (the paid live audience) voiced their opinion in the arena of how they felt about the match result

I have no doubt in my mind that when TK signed Sting, he knew from day 1 that he would right all the wrongs that triple K and Vince did with how they booked him in the fed before Seth almost ended his career.

I wouldn't be surprised if that is what he told Sting before booking his retirement match

Early this week, it was debated if Cena was closing the show.
If I was there, I would have wanted him to open the show because the odds of him winning would be exponentially higher than if he closed.
I think even triple K wouldn't have been that dumb to book the same ending if Cena opened the show.

I know this match was either 1a or 1b as the least popular ppv main event of 2025, but looking back, TK did what he had to do to correct the booking of giving Christian the casino gauntlet contract.

Knowing how much TK loves Christian, I'm sure he'll get a proper send off.

Merriam Webster usually has the word of the year so I think "pivot" is the word of the year for AEW (see post Dynasty ppv)

Although the year is almost over, I think the word of the year for the Fed is going to be "poetic"

I must've seen it used at least 10 times to describe how Cena lost.

They showed the dude that's always front row at all of the Chicago shows and he had a genuine look of shock on his face like, "I can't believe I took out a 4th mortgage to pay for this show and this is how they ended it"
Fwiw, he seems like he's smarky enough to appreciate a "properly booked" finish

Danielson went out almost the same way as Cena, but had a better reception because we all knew Danielson 100% went out the way that he wanted to.
Cena's final run was so plastic and the fact that he essentially said that I run the plays that I'm told really factored into how the fans reacted tonight
December 14, 2025 at 6:38 AM
I feel giddy like righteous reg right now. Can't wait for someone to do a vid clip of the side by side crowd reactions after Sting's and Cena's retirement matches.

To think, we are getting Take vs Claudio on Saturday in a hot crowd in the UK so you know those two mofo's are looking at Speedball and Protostar and saying "bet"

Thank you TK because if the Fed had a match anywhere near the quality of Bailey/Fletcher they'd live off of that for 6 months w/o trying

One of the rare occasions that you can't go wrong with either team winning.
December 11, 2025 at 1:11 AM
The ironic thing about Matt's comments is that his pal Bubba believes that their retirement match with the hardys is a 5 star match because of the story that they told in the ring.

Subjectively, it wasn't, but even his grifter friend understands that both in ring and story contribute to a DM 5*

I popped when Cash said it, but I wouldn't be surprised if that quip went over the heads of a large portion of fans since Toni and Juice aren't very public about their marriage.
December 8, 2025 at 8:07 AM
He's in the top 1% in which one promo can get you to buy into a shock quick title win/reign, but to be honest, I think he's too humble to have a title reign before guys like Ospreay, Takeshita, Bandido or Fletcher.
December 8, 2025 at 7:58 AM
He's been great in AEW. I'm glad he transitioned from his initial face gimmick because his current heel persona fits him so well.

I do wonder if he's a little extra motivated because of how the Fed did his wife dirty.

If so, that's AEW's gain because he is one of the best former Fed signings.

At first, I thought Renee was going to do a curb stomp, but he'd have to sell it and the ending we got wouldn't have worked

Although, it would have been hilarious to also get a Mox cameo with him strolling through after the Renee spot to give us another Mox meme face, then the TK/Mercedes ending.
December 8, 2025 at 7:41 AM
We must be around the same age since I am just like your first sentence.

ECW really was the alternative. At that time, it seemed like they had no boundaries (wouldn't fly today, but two words Joel Gertner) I always felt like early nWo WCW and Attitude Era fed was a watered down knock off of ECW.
December 5, 2025 at 10:31 PM
The one thing I liked about ECW was all of the licensed (not knowing back then that to legally use them on TV, they'd have to pay for it) music they used as entrances.
So the fact that TK pays for the music to use legally makes them better.
Still boggles my mind that Tajiri used Prodigy.

In kayfabe, she's separating Jon Moxley (current Death Riders dictator) from Jonathan Good (Nora's dad) 🤣
December 4, 2025 at 7:54 PM
I feel like Mox will get bagged at Worlds End, but not sure how it happens.
Mox could make it to the semis, but loses in his semi causing the bagging (Mox/Claudio would have to draw tonight)
Or both of them miss the semis because Mox loses his last C2 match resulting in a Claudio/Mox match at WE.
December 3, 2025 at 8:41 PM
My perspective is that there is minimal overlap of "fans" that consume both the Fed and AEW, so it would surprise me if there was any overlap of TNA and AEW viewers.

Also, serious question, what is TNA's identity?

To me, the Fed is entertainment.

AEW is professional wrestling.

The sad thing is that as long as they continue to sell live tickets like they have been doing, they don't have any incentive to change.

It's amazing how many drones will defend Triple K's booking because they think TKO is pulling the strings. He is the real life Keyser Soze.
