Ena was speechless at her brothers unusual kindness, but nevertheless, it warmed her heart. Still wanting to show her appreciation, she muttered a very quiet "Thank you, Akito..."

whether or not he heard it, she didn't know.

A menu entirely of cheesecake?!? That was shocking, but even more so was the fact that Akito had saved his money to take her there.

Actually, the two of them often did kind things for each other, but it would be small things like doing the other's chores that day, or giving advice on a problem.

The three got in the car, Shinei on the right, Akito on the left and Ena in the back.

Peaking her head around the chair she asked “So, where are we going?”

Finding the silence between the two of them a bit awkward, Ena asked her father a random quick question to fill it.

"So, um... have you been working on anything lately..?"

Ena watched as Akito went down the hallway one way, and their father the other.

Figuring there was no reason to go with Akito, she went to wait outside as well.

Ehh.. I keep seeing that bunny everywhere, I haven't read the book but it does look really cute

..Hm? Wait, what did you mean by that last sentence?!?

Oh, was he working on a new piece? She hadn't heard anything about him starting a new one... Not that it was something he would usualy tell her, though.

Sighing, Ena took a deep breath and walked over.
"Yeah we're ready, I think."

She glanced at Akito for confirmation. "You good?"

Ena walked down the hall, turned the corner and noticed Akito talking to their father.
“Oh-“

She didn’t want to interrupt, so she stood around the corner and listened to their conversation.

Getting up from her bed, she noticed a message pop up on her phone.

“Ah, hehe…”

She had received messages from her friends, all wishing her a happy birthday.

“This really is nice huh…”
She made a mental note to thank them all later.

She hesitated for a moment. They still weren’t on the best terms, but this might be a good chance to get to know her father more.

“Sure. I’ll get dressed now, so let me know when you guys are ready, ok?”

She watched her brother nod and leave the room.

“How do I know you don’t just want cheesecake?” She looked at him teasingly.

“Well, I suppose it would be fun to go together either way” She smiled softly, just for a moment.
