Like each basic attack is a bit weaker than those of other martials, but had a higher chance to proc a follow-up, or perhaps their attacks have a chance to inflict some status, and the multiple blows increase your odds of triggering it.

You should not only keep that, but maybe build a class that takes advantage of it as a core mechanic. A flurry of blows sort of deal.
