Our last talk of the conference before a panel discussion and AGM is led by Professor Clare Anderson from @unibirmingham.bsky.social. Her talk is covering circadian rhythms, how we measure them, and the impact of sleep deprivation on attention and performance.

Our post-lunch talks are being started with a talk by Dr Desaline Joseph on the use of technology in sleep research and clinical medicine. She spoke through two studies at Evelina London using technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to explore sleep and medical outcomes.

Our next session is an opportunity for early career researchers to give a presentation on their research. We heard Dr Thomas Bilerys; Dr Peter Goodwin; SHINE Lab's own Bethan Cornick; and Peter To talk about their sleep research in areas of chronic pain, shift work, and intellectual disabilities.

After a refreshing coffee break, we our back with Natalie Blyth, a trainee Paediatric Consultant Clinical scientist at the Paediatric Respiratory Physiology department in Leicester. She is giving a talk on sleep diagnostics and interpreting oximetry and sleep screening outputs.

Our final talk within families and social care is given by doctoral researcher Nakita Singh from Bristol University on modelling the demand for adult social care services. Adults with ID facilitated workshops with young people with complex needs to discuss what a good future looks like for them.

Dr Ned Redmore from the Open University introduced us to the Day-Doc, a social care tool co-produced with people with
profound learning disabilities. The Day-Doc says how people with profound ID communicate their views and experiences and asks questions to help services.

Dr Marie Dunnion from NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire continues the inspiring talks at #seattleclub with a talk on why autistic people don't go to the doctor. Booking appointments, travelling and the waiting area can cause sensory overload before even getting into the appointment.

Our session on inclusive research at #seattleclub is started by Dr Abigail Croydon and John Cassidy from King’s College London. They reflected on their adapted citizens' jury. People with learning disabilities could do peer review but need involvement elsewhere and more accessible paper outputs.

Our final talk in this cluster at #seattleclub is from Dr Suzi Sapiets and Dr Nick Gore from Kent University discussing a new tool for assessing and improving the quality of behaviour support plans (BSP-CAT). The tool has moderate to good test-rest reliability and inter-rater reliability with BSPs.

PhD student Chloe Kennedy from Napier University continues our session on mental health at #seattleclub with a talk on the acceptability of cognitive behavioural therapy for autistic adults. Initial results show significant difference in acceptability between autistic adults and clinicians.
