Could also be that due to the bilingual nature of Dragsvik some educators translated "sotilas" to "krigare" and that the distinction between the two is bigger in Sweden

Interestingly enough my time in the Finnish military (in Dragsvik, the Swedish language part of the military) "krigare" was very often used compared to "soldat"

The words have the same distinction in Swedish but perhaps it is culturally not as severe (even though literally it is)
