If this was X the caption would be "squint your eyes", and then when you do, you'd see a picture of Hitler.

What you're describing isn't the utility of USD, but it's value proposition.

The value proposition of Bitcoin is that it cannot be printed, it is verifiable, it is divisible. The utility of Bitcoin is that it can be sent across the globe in minutes without needing to trust a third party.

So control is the key factor in whether something is gambling or not. Taking a flight is then gambling as well? Does that make air travel inherently bad? Just trying to understand.

So I'll take that as a yes haha.

I suppose with that line of thinking, a person will lose their wealth no matter how they store it. Cash loses to inflation and politics, real estate to nature, stocks to management, etc.

I was actually responding to the other guy who was saying investing=gambling.

If you want to use the definition that broadly, then sure I'd agree with that.

Are you against investing as a whole?

Valid concerns. Anything new (especially if it's in the financial industry) will attract people looking to take advantage of others. The industry still has ways to go in terms of regulations that protect consumers.

It can be either, depending on how you choose to interact with it.

Yup, hate crypto bros all you want, but ignoring Bitcoin isn't the solution. It's and entirely different asset class, and understanding it is as important as understanding any other asset class.
