Rest in peace, President Carter. A truly good man, and the world is better for having you in it. Your life was an example we could all stand to follow. Say hello to Rosalynn for us.

Glad Cooper the dog was occupied with a bush and didn’t spot this heron and scare it off. And I can’t believe it stayed out while I took several pics. This was one of my favorites.

A blustery morning out here on Marrowstone Island. I love these days. Took a drive after breakfast at the Nordland General Store (so grateful for our island’s community owned shop and glad they have a generator!) to see and feel the wind’s power.

Sometimes you gotta shake things up a little to see life from a different perspective. Taking a drive on a blustery morning, after the power went out, brought home the wildness of nature…and my own wild spirit.

Love seeing so many varieties of shrooms this time of year. Saw these on a hike today in Fort Flagler State Park.

A subtle shift in clouds and light and the landscape can change dramatically. The same can be said for our mental perspectives and the landscape of our lives.

Ten seconds is all it took for the light to shift again. Almost missed it.

I have multiple cats, but this big guy is the one I was referring to! He loves to sit outside in my lap and have me carry him around in my arms as long as we stay close to the house (I got him from the shelter when he was 10, and he was a rescued stray…loud noises scare him, and he tries to bolt).

Good morning and happy Friday #Bluesky! The views from my front porch are always beautiful, but sometimes, Mother Nature really puts on a show. This morning’s sunrise was one of those times.

Lake Crescent is beautiful no matter the season, but there’s something mystical about it in the winter.

The first time I lived somewhere with amazing scenery on my doorstep was in #Garmisch, Germany. But the town is in a valley, which sometimes made me feel, physically and mentally. When I needed to open my mind and senses, I could #hike UP a trail, where expansive views gave me a fresh perspective.

December rolls in on a soft breeze and a #bluesky. I took advantage of the weather to go for a #hike in Fort Flagler State Park. One of my favorite places in the park in winter is the tent campground for its old trees and #OlympicMountain views, but the bluff trail is great too. I did both today 😁

I spent 5.5 years #traveling the U.S. in an RV, exploring #nature and discovering the ways shifting physical and mental spaces impacted my perspectives about this world I live in and changed my own internal spaces. Though I've settled in the PNW, this journey hasn't ended. It's just evolved.
