Didn't the rights already revert back to red eagle(or whatever name they're calling themselves this year)?

Though of note, in the AoL they apparently just used matter disintegration tech for that kinda thing. Not even clear if said was even OP based. Though given we're talking about the AoL, it seems likely.

Eh. A Skimming Gateway has Ways less chance of trying to eat your soul.

While short of building some kind of spaceship that using it as FTL, it's not like Skimming Gateways are useful for much else. What with Traveling as an option.🤷‍♂️

Could be wrong, but think armor like that takes forever to make. Now if Laila made it on the other hand…

IIRC it lasted most/all of the trip. Don't recall how long the trip was as far as "quickly" goes.

In Elayne's poor defense, she did come around by the end of that conversation. The plot just whisked them out of the city pretty much right after, so it never really led to jack shit.

On the trip itself mind. My memory of exact cases once they got to the city is foggy.

She literally set hornets on Lan, as just "an" example. To say nothing of all the tesbagging power move bull she was pulling on Perrin.

If anything, I'd say the stuff with Mat was lighter.🤷‍♂️

Mostly just makes me think RJ must of had some rather unpleasant long drives in the backseat with his sisters growing up.😅🤷‍♂️

The way they start treating him even just traveling to Ebou Dar, and with the older Aes Sedai getting in on the act, reminds me a lot of Moiraine's petty behavior while traveling in NS and TDR, and...

Yeah, Egwene in her time with the Wise Ones is easily her at her worst. In comparison her time as Amyrlin is her having been taken off the flames and set a low simmer of dislikability.
February 10, 2025 at 4:20 AM
It’s when TDR comes around, that things… just kinda start going downhill in that department.

Personally, I kinda feel the whole a’dam arc came too early in our getting to know her phase to really work well, as when added to her attempts to just ignore it, it makes it much harder to see it’s impact.
February 9, 2025 at 6:57 PM
Meanwhile, TGH is probably the high water mark for me when it comes to her likability. From feeling sympathy for her putting up with Nynaeve’s bullying, to her protecting Min when they get captured.
February 9, 2025 at 6:57 PM
While there’s the foundations of some of her later self in various parts, EotW Egwene personally feels more like just a collection of “the girlfriend” tropes then a character. She’s just kinda… there.

If it's using vacule or TAR-ishness to do it's things, then a wound taken in it would just be a wound... Which given the form a lot of the trials take, they're lucky they don't get more deaths. Though to be undeservedly fair, both of the ones we saw involved them going hard on the one being tested.

I'd think it would have serious risk of at best freezing like a locked up computer. If not just outright dissolving into mist the moment the AST turns off.🤷‍♂️
February 1, 2025 at 6:10 PM
"Autonomous TAR-ness" that I could see it continuing to exist for at *least* a little while after being turned off(something just outright shown to happen by Nynaeve reopening the arch), the AST seems to a lot more micromanaged.

#WoTBookSpoilers

The AST ter'angreal comes off a lot more holodeck then the AT one. The fact that Nynaeve can use balefire in it without hitting the testers means that it likely is using vacule pocket dimensions to some extent, but while the AT seems to have enough...

The shows whole "basically OP police" thing is another option... but while their "largest Ajah Vs *maybe* two men a year" thing can be excused by them needing to cover such a large area, in a world with Traveling, having such a large chunk of the overall channeler population be cops seems... iffy.😅
January 19, 2025 at 4:54 PM
I mean ideally their whole rebranding would *already* be obsolete within a generation or three. But then, such is how the Time of Change works, and the whole of the White Tower might just as easily be gone by then.🤷‍♂️
January 19, 2025 at 4:39 PM
Male and female channelers "needing" such a go between Ajah long term is just... kinda pathetic?
January 19, 2025 at 4:39 PM

I get why in the books they seem to be leaning "Something something, Asha'man, something something.", as it provides some continuity of purpose, rather then leaving them feeling like they just got shifted into a completely different Ajah they never chose. Only...

The "ajah" started out as temporary interest groups, before they became the not so temporary "Ajah".

Regarding a role for the Reds goes...

Who needs action, when you’ve all got nigh bottomless checkbooks so as to enact a rather vague mission statement of “just… go do… something… or not”, and it’s effectively illegal for your boss to even ask you what you’re up to?🤷‍♂️
January 5, 2025 at 11:14 PM
It’s tech, so short of it just hitting a dead end and being literally scientifically incapable of farther advancement… probably not. No matter how many times it fails, there’s always going to be the “but *this* time it will work!”.🤷‍♂️

… At least until the planet is a lifeless husk anyway.
