Papercrafting and Disneyland make me happy.
I've been a stay at home parent since my kid was born, partially because we would have spent my entire teaching salary on childcare.

Your nephew calls it Artificial Unintelligence. I'm encouraging the sentiment.

At least it's not the tik-tok trucker filming a video while you're trying to eat breakfast from the only open restaurant (aka my last experience in Charlotte airport).

More than once, my husband has considered skipping his flight home from O'Hare, renting a car, and driving the 6ish hours home.

We went on Thursday for the playground. It's fantastic, but it needs more (re: any) parking.

Do you have a plant nursery nearby? They should be able to recommend someone.

My favorite city on the planet. We lived there for 3 years and would move back in a heartbeat if we could afford it.

This, painted by my Mom based on a photo my husband took, lives above my mantel.

I wish so badly that he would run for McConnell's seat. He could do so much more long-term, and he could absolutely win.

The chronology v. order of publication is all over the place, so that could definitely depend on which one you're currently reading. Dragonsdawn is the first chronologically, but Dragonflight is the first McCaffrey wrote.

Just saw it! I cried; I cheered; I said, "how the hell did they keep THAT a secret?" The best film since Godzilla Minus-1.

Moved from Kentucky to Atlanta to Seattle, then back to Kentucky (mostly to care for family). I miss Seattle weather so much right now.

We had one of those in a city apartment. I put a shower cap over it while I was cooking. It mostly solved the problem.

These are most likely wild violets. They should have a lovely little purple flower in a few weeks.

I've been to Target 3 times this year. I was at Costco 3 times last week (but only because we use their pharmacy and I can't seem to sync our prescriptions).

Cross-town moves are easy. It should take a day. Something I recommend if you have the budget: you can hire hourly moving help through U-Haul. They'll move the heavy stuff to a truck you rent; you drive it over, and they'll meet you there to unload. Five years ago, it cost about $300.

We did that and had a baby the week after we moved. Then, 18 months later, we did it again (luckily without having another baby).

Meijer was out of SweetTarts hearts, so I was forced to pay full price for the chewy straws.
