OPM's most recent report, 2021, has 637K veterans in the Executive Branch out of 2,143K total employees, 29.7%. Veterans with a preference are 26.3% of employees, with 10.5% as 30%+ disabled.

Mark, you want to look at the monthly Jobs Report, Table A-5. As of February there were 8.4m veterans in the civilian labor force. Current unemployment of 4.1%. If, 83K were laid off it would increase overall vet unemployment by a point.
