I am very worried about this. I live in Florida, so our elections are already compromised by voter suppression laws and extreme gerrymandering.

I should have said, of the people who have stood up to Trump, it appears it's more often women, especially when you compare their numbers with the number of men in the same position. i.e. 10 women in Republican Senate vs. 43 men in Republican Senate. 2 of 10 women is 20% vs 1 of 43 men is 2%.
