The Coin is narrated by an unnamed Palestinian woman who has recently moved to New York. Though she works at a school, her lifestyle is mostly funded by an inheritance from her parents, who died in an accident when she was a still child.

As Gliff was written by Ali Smith i had to read it! The blurb doesn’t give too much away so I went in excited and was at one point surprised by how the story unfolded.

While Gliff is a dystopian novel, it stands out from many others in the genre in my opinion.
