Yeah, you mean like fancy particle effects and custom 3D animated characters spawning from cards?

Definitely, though we will probably reserve that for our own in-house IP and officially licensed content where we have creative liberty. This is more of a mod-style experience to play MTG unofficially.

But honestly totally respect the privacy argument here and want to respect people's privacy / not be live streaming video of their homes willy-nilly. Lots of cool things you can do as a dev with camera access though, eg. training a realtime vision model on physical cards, that we'd love to explore.

Nah, no external camera access on these devices yet for consumer apps! Mostly for you to stay aware of your surroundings.

Vision Pro opened up camera access for enterprise apps in #visionOS 2.0, and Meta announced that they will have a camera API at some point in spring 2025 at Connect this year.
