In any case, the nuk* wasn’t used, yet the French defeat in this battle( w.minimal US support)and the French retreat. This resulted in more US interest in the region.

Towards the conclusion of the indochina war, the Eisenhower admin debated yes of the nuk*. Some accounts suggest the French were against this at Dien Bien Phu; however, I find it unlikely the U.S would entertain this use without their support.

As POTUS continues to debate conflict with Iran, the odd similarities with the Vietnam war continue, as I’ve personally thought this admin wanted a conflict due to ideology. 🧵

Or Texas Top v. Garland, where a ban was issued pertaining to the “unconditionally of CTA” and reporting obligations with FinCEN.

Ex would be Ryan LLC V. FTC, where a nationwide ban was issued. Agree or disagree it created clarity for how the FTC can proceed, and how wall street and companies can proceed.

There are over 90 federal district courts, with (most) states having more than one. Although Congress does have the power to add or subtract this number, this is shortsighted.

Given the discourse yesterday, and my refrain from diving into my undergrad, I’ll dive a bit into the Ides of March and the assassination of J.Caesar.
In short, Caesars great sin was the outward appearance/ signals of declaring himself a king.

The forgotten detail of the *likely closure of DOE is how it will impact loans. PSLF is essentially in limbo, I literally cannot make qualifying payments given the pause on IDRs which this admin wants to eliminate. These are real numbers:

Finally, President Reagan (81-89) continued the policy of utilizing the policies of proxies to emphasize containment- I would consider Reagan, and the policy of Carter to be the backbone of modern US policy. Providing X faction money to defeat Y faction.

As another aside, this is when the “miracle on ice” occurred. Perhaps, the greatest victory by a US national team. And frankly, demonstrates the American animosity between the nations.

President Ford( 74-77’) can be realistically seen as the real move towards detente, although domestic issues dominated his administration.
March 1, 2025 at 6:56 PM
President Nixon(69-74’) can be seen as the pulling back of the Truman ways; however, the US reaffirms all of its promises to allies, and the world.
March 1, 2025 at 6:49 PM
President Johnson( 63-69’) again reaffirmed US readiness to intervene in L.America but also around the world to apply containment theory.
March 1, 2025 at 6:41 PM
President JFK( 61-63’) who is, frankly oversimplified by credited with the start of the Cold War/ Vietnam; but regardless, he reaffirmed the containment policy not just in Europe, but especially in L.America and in Asia. Regardless of where, the US is a friend to democracy- notice the theme?
March 1, 2025 at 6:39 PM
President Eisenhower( 53-61’) continued this policy. In short, he opened the policy for the US to outwardly involve itself in other nations/ offer aid to pro democratic countries.
March 1, 2025 at 6:36 PM
Given the unprecedented event yesterday it’s helpful to understand US policy postwar: President Truman(45-53’) developed the policy of containment, essentially the US would aid any democracy to prevent the spread of communism.
