Yeah, the minimal file size gains aren't really worth it, it has no lossless editing capabilities, that I'm aware of, it's generally a pretty useless format. Google was actually responsible for it, I think it's related to the AV1 video codec, but I'm not sure.

It would also eliminate unnecessary waits at intersections with no cross-traffic.
The main concern would be exceptionally busy pedestrian intersections, though this could be mitigated by building pedestrian bridges or tunnels.

I also think that if the cars were properly networked together, and with local walkways, we'd be able to substantially reduce congestion, as cars would be able to slow down and navigate intersections without stopping instead of stopping.

Couldn't these be turned into a form of public transport? The main difference would be that you wouldn't necessarily be clustered together with multiple people (though, arguably, you could do ride sharing based on the destinations of certain people).

I think some of us want to believe people are inherently good, which can sometimes take forms we disagree with, but we struggle to rationalize racism as good by any stretch of the imagination.
