I think a deranged man as Mrs. Lovett? Older queer lesbians as Dolly Levi and Horace Vandegelder? Shrek existing outside of the Gender-Binary? These things just ENHANCE the stories that already exist. Main Couples on Broadway being predominately cis-het is truly my Roman Empire.

I would ABSOLUTELY re-queer-code musicals! There are so many characters in incredibly popular musicals who are queer-coded, and I think bringing more emphasis to these stories would make it SO dynamic. There are stories and experiences that cis-het relationships can't authentically tell.
