It is this limited capacity that makes the work that Kendall, the Shelter WF Coordinator, does even more important! Kendall does a bit of everything from organizing events, applying for grants, reaching out to other housing organizations locally...

Where does the money go?

Shelter WF has a working board in which every member of the board is working full-time. This leaves limited time and capacity for the board to fully engage in the work that we want to do.

Amplifying Your Voice: Through our outreach and advocacy efforts, we ensure your input shapes policies that reflect the needs of diverse swaths of our communities.

Simplifying Engagement: We create easy-to-use templates to help residents share their personalized experiences with city planners, making the complicated process more accessible and transparent.

What is Shelter WF doing to making a difference:

Keeping the Public Informed: We send out info on upcoming Growth Policy meetings in all three communities, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to participate.

One of our key focuses this year is ensuring the community’s voice is heard during the critical Growth Policy updates in Whitefish, Kalispell, and Columbia Falls. This process determines how our region grows and develops—and impacts everything from housing affordability to transportation.
