There's nothing moral about forcing people to sleep in a flimsy tent or freezing cold doorway. Everyone should have the right to suitable emergency accommodation and adequate support: both British nationals and people fleeing conflict and persecution.

Let’s be clear, the housing emergency wasn’t caused by people fleeing conflict and persecution in search of asylum, it was caused by decades of failure to build the genuinely affordable social homes the country urgently needs.
