A tyrannical government is an oppressive regime where a ruler or small group holds absolute power, unrestrained by laws, constitutions, or opposition, ruling unjustly and often cruelly to suppress individual rights and freedoms through coercion, surveillance, and fear, with modern examples often aligning with totalitarianism where the state controls all aspects of public and private life. Key characteristics include absolute power, disregard for human rights, use of force, suppression of dissent (even through indoctrination or terror), and prioritizing the ruler's self-interest over the people's well-being.

We all condemn violence but glorifying Kirk’s divisive language is not something I would support either.
“If condemning violence was the purpose of today’s resolution, it would have my full support. That’s why I signed on to a resolution led by Rep. Marc Veasey condemning Charlie Kirk’s assassination and all political violence,” Sewell said. “I would have also supported the Senate resolution which passed unanimously earlier this week. In a clear effort to further divide Americans and Members of Congress, unfortunately, the resolution House Republicans brought to the floor today included divisive language glorifying the viewpoints Charlie Kirk espoused.

Abilene Adult Education Adult Ed Closure Statement July 21, 2025 Communities of West Central Texas, It is with extreme disappointment and sadness that due to a lack of federal funding; we must announce the closure of all Adult Education programs and classes throughout West Central Texas effective immediately. This was an unexpected event that has been precipitated by a government "hold" on money that was previously allocated to Adult Education programs across the nation. There has been no timeline on the release of this money, therefore our program and others like us across the state - and nation, have been given a choice to either cut their programs by 80% or shut down operations altogether. The decision to close operations did not come lightly, but we simply cannot exist while being given only 20% of our expected budget. We are extremely sorry we will no longer be able to serve the thousands of students across our region who count on us for GED preparation and testing, English as Second Language classes, and career counseling and services, and urge you to contact your elected officials to express your concern and disappointment in the lack of funding for this much-needed community service. I dont buy that MAGA likes anything about America. They wear red hats that say "America is not great." They don't like the democracy part. They don't like the Constitution part. They don't like the government part. They don't like "give us your huddled masses". They don't like "protect other nations." They don't like our land/water/animals enough to protect them. They hate half the people who live here. When all that's gone, what's left to like? They're basically walking around chanting, "I like... ME!"
