out across the Internet can help fix that. I'm happy to see this from you and hope more and more follow suit. Cheers from the IndieWeb!

microblogging on your site. You, like many others in the larger "IndieWeb" movement have started a "link log", or "post roll" or in your terms, "Daily blog" too. The "web" is less "webby" these days thanks to the centralization and AI-ification of all things, but sites like yours linking...

More and more folks seem to be re-discovering the power of their own websites at the same time they're realizing the limitations of (centralized) social media platforms. Obviously *you* appreciate blogging and the web and have the tenure to prove it, but what you've shared here is basically just...

Umm, well they're just different color palettes and once I had them configured they are pretty much set and forget. Sometimes I go in and tweak them or add new CSS directives to the main CSS file but otherwise I've been pretty happy with them as-is.

Require? Nah. But I think it's a super nice QoL thing for your readers. As for default? Whatever the owner likes most. Especially if it's a truly 'personal' website. Do what *you* want!

My site has 3 theme-modes! 😄

Mine are proudly neither of these 🤷‍♂️

I think it's just a matter of when, not if. This said, I know you have an established presence on Mastodon (with a super healthy following) so you could easily flee there if this would come to pass... (even if you aren't *as* active there right now) 🤷‍♂️

Boggles my mind people still on twitter tho 🤦‍♂️

The real question is whether you similarly see Bluesky's inevitable demise a mile off... no evil billionaire has "stepped up" yet, but bsky is super vulnerable to it. The paint has already started to crack. They're desperate for cash, making sketchy moderation decisions, and can't decentralize... 😬

Have you checked out bridgy fed? fed.brid.gy - Would let you interact with folks on Mastodon from here. Me included! 🤗

Mostly I just think bsky will inevitably fall prey to a few things that will make the service unusable in the long run so I just don't feel like investing the time. Understanding of course that I miss out on all the cool conversations and accounts that have made their way here in the mid-term.

I spend virtually no time here (on bsky) and really enjoy Mastodon. The infosec community there is pretty good, but admittedly fractured thanks to some folks still being on f.k.a. Twitter and many coming here. But I've built a community across a few different interests so really enjoy it there 🤷‍♂️

True. Managing two presences is already too many haha.

What's your handle? I never use it either - but ya never know. Ill have it as a backup to my backup social network and have a few folks in there that don't just-talk-"crypto"

This is actually pretty wild to me. Obviously supporting Elon in any way is a recipe to get absolutely railed on Fedi, but to be banned on infosec.exchange? I wonder what else was said... But also why you host your own instance and not live on a big one 🤷‍♂️. But being on X these days IS cringe 😬

I like Mike, and I like Bluesky well enough. But all of this seems to be just conjecture and foundless hope. For any of what Mike is saying to be "true", it relies (at minimum) on FoF having proven they can do what they want to do, and they just haven't.

Oh cool! A Bluesky post about the Mastodon post about an X (Twitter) post.

2025 is confusing...

But also yes, a hilarious self-own.
