Character design of mine for our Beacon mini-campaign!

I'm playing a Lifeweaver Elemental of life & death, seemed fitting for this time of year! 🕸
A vision of black and white, the everflowing dancer stares down at her foe through the stolen clay mask. Pale garments trail behind her as she grins with understanding that she has won. She wears cuffs of black metal, the skin that shows is cracked like drying earth, she beholds 3 other masks similar to the one she wears now. Her eyes, like brightest stars, display the promise that a bargain will be struck this day, or your life is theirs to dance to. Momento Mori, Momento Vivere. The Danse Macabre.

I finally figured out what was wrong with my tablet and managed to get back to drawing! 😭 The way I turned shrimp so fast!

Everyone may be familiar with Merida from Pixar's Brave. During a 2022 drawing competition, one of the prompts was to draw the hero as the villain. I chose my favourite Pixar movie, Brave! So here we have an angry looking Merida in a "what-if" world where she never broke the curse, so is out to hunt down the witch that she blames for this curse. Her unique outfit looks somewhat dishevelled and darker, long ginger hair unruly and wild, the bow always at the ready.

Adrift in the clouds kissed with a golden sunrise, a figure floats. A lush, green eco-system graces their entire body with trees, rivers and birds. Laid back and dormant, their arm reaches up into two parallel suns. One bright orange, the other pure blue. The suns are being absorbed into the entity as if it were life's first breath. This is Ymir. The birth of Midgard.

Hope. This commissioned character is a pleasant looking Yokaii. Flat nose with very large happy eyes, amber in colour. Blond, shoulder length hair covered by a hood that takes the shape of what would be two large ears also. Her priestess robes hold a pale blue and white colouration, with trims of gold and magenta. Long slender arms and a single hoofed foot peaks from underneath. Over the top, she wears a scaley dark green trench coat, and holds a whistling charm in her hand. She smiles delightfully, so full of wonder and hope.

Title: "BRAIN FOG" Subtitle: "Motion-Sickness Mania" This character art is in the style of a classic vintage comic book, I play a young woman in our game of 'Masks: A New Generation' RPG. Brain Fog, as she is called by the public, is a mutant experimenting with her psychic powers on lab rats, to later thwart terrorising vampires with horrid nausea! The ground beneath her enemies spins while they're under the influence of her sickening power, they see everything doubled and they feel her phantom fire! When there's an oil slick in your eyes you know Brain Fog is nearby! Her eyes are covered with a tasselled veil. Waves of fabric adorn her shoulders while the rest of her mauve and tan outfit is well put together, functional and sits tightly, ready for for a fight! Her black hair tied back in a pony tail, her army of rats run after her as she is in motion, casting her psychic oil-slicked energy behind her, making her appear nauseatingly blurry to her enemies. The power from her hand taking the form of an eel. In response to the subtitle, she also says "Yeah... I have that effect on people." The background is a mix of tasteful muted colours, pink, yellow and cyan, with a lantern held by a chain subtly in the background. An in-game reference to something from her backstory. This is listed as Issue #1 for 95 pence, inspired by the many loveable comic book covers. The creature's head, view from the side. Sketched out as if by an explorer studying the creature. Splotches of in and creases mark the page. Jaw agape, eye sockets deep with a furious glare. Skin marked in various ways, folding to indicate it wears no scales nor feathers. A bone-like crest adorns the centre of its head and across the snout. Within a comic strip, 2 characters, Hope who is an elegant Yokaii in a feminine form with brilliantly coloured priestesses robes, a cheery and shining smile on her face and a twinkle in her large golden eyes. And Venus, the complete opposite, a raven-like Aarakocra in dark leathers and a shifty look about her as if ready to dart at something. The first panel has Hope saying to Venus: "You know Venus, if you tried a hug once in a while you-". Hope gets cut off as it moves to the second panel, Venus has whipped her head around and has been completely taken off guard, as if she "blue-screened" into a thousand-yard stare. Maths symbols and hieroglyphics cover the rest of the panel like she's trying to register as if whatever Hope said was preposterously impossible. The third panel sees Hope look a bit concerned as suddenly Venus has frozen in a panic state, her feathers slightly raised on end and seems almost bashful. Hope says "Venus?" As she places a hand on her sholder in concern. And this is how their very unlikely "romance" started.

2022 - Two bright burning eyes of emerald green stare straight ahead. A delicate, regal, horned crown of gold sits upon the draconid's head. This crown belongs to a great serpent, its head large and snout pointed. The rest of its body doesn't fit on the whole page as it twists around and behind. Black and green scales adorn its body. A mass of feathers can be seen off to one side. This is a piece inspired by the TV show Loki, where I explore what his draconic variant might look like. 2023 - The image of Krampus wrapped in a central circular design. He crouches over menacingly, tongue lashing out, horns tall and curved slightly. Burning coals for eyes, he looks down at the wall of white handprints painted below him. He curves his birch branch whip above him, passively. The style is drawn almost like a modern cave painting with dotted shading. Two different timelines, sharing the same soul. Both can recall the memories of the other - while they may tolerate their disagreements, they still share some... similarities.

"Perhaps I wasn't clear..." Venus, a corvid humanoid speaking to a once trusted person, a Yokaii. "...You are not MY Hope" Venus draws her weapon to stab the Yokaii's hand into the table. -cut to the next 2 panels- Robyn, a dark haired young woman says "So let me put it this way..." to another young woman with bright blond hair, a former lover. "...You disgrace her NAME" Robyn draws her gun and shoots the woman in the knee. Both speaking characters in unison say on the final 2 panels "I want NOTHING to do with you." The grimm parallel between two souls who share a mind, both suffering with different levels of betreyal, both with the habit of drawing blood when deeply and emotionally hurt.

My interpretation of a Valkyrie, taking on more of the featheres elements. Expanding the clavical area to accomodate for the weight of such large wings. Most of the dark green tapestry is taken up by a wonderful spread of wings inspired by the colouration of a golden eagle. Her eyes a bright light that peers sorrowfully at the souls whipped up in a blue smoke. Her hands wrapped into the smoke like a caress that guides them upwards. She wears a few pieces of jewellery, a white gold that shimmers in her long braided hair. She wears no other clothing or armour as her body is covered in feathers, her feet are talons that aid her in the inevitable battle to come.
