I've done that before. Got a 3x6 foot sheet of felt from Joann's for a few bucks. It was fine but pilled very quickly and card corners kept getting caught on stray fibers. I much prefer neoprene!

Did you request any specific games as gifts? If so, that sucks ☹️ But if not, maybe it's like what Matt said and they don't know what to get! Hope you get some nice gifts this year, whether board games or not 😀

You know what? You're right! I have lots of cheap games that I love, so I don't know why I phrased it that way. I've rewritten that sentence. Thanks for catching it.

Thanks Alex! Yeah it's a struggle for sure, thanks for sharing. For me, maintaining at least two hobbies at once has been somewhat helpful for that. That way I don't get TOO sucked into one... most of the time :)
