I'm a public historian working in Springfield, Illinois for the State Historic Sites at Springfield. The Old State State Capitol, one of "my" sites, is where Lincoln delivered this speech. It's also where the IL General Assembly ratified the 13th and 14th Amendments and ended the state Black Laws.
