i have an entire relationship chart for the zodiacs lol. most are civil but some of them really hate each other. yuelan has a lot of contention with anusza for example, over their conflicting portfolios of comfort and conflict

largely considered a stain on the mantle, one incarnation even holds the record for shortest term as zodiac, lasting only 33 years. yuelan's portfolio includes family and culture, the moons (of which there are 3), art, luck, and comfort. her palace contains the largest art gallery in the world

yuelan has an extremely troubled history that includes war, colonization, and rebellion. she is the only zodiac to have a previous incarnation who is still alive after having renounced the mantle. she is also the only zodiac to have a previous incarnation be killed by the constellations themselves

i didn't know this when i was in college, but I'm glad i insisted on handwriting my notes back then when everyone else was using laptops

there's nuance. to everything. and certainly to this. i'm just saying, when we're fostering a generation of children who genuinely do not know how to read, audiobooks are not a great substitute, especially when studies support links between physical paper books and comprehension

everyone takes in information differently, and i'm sure that listening to the information is helpful over reading to some. but reading is - evidently! - a separate skill from listening, and it feels dubious to encourage it as an alternative when we're not even teaching children HOW to read correctly

it's so sad. and the founders of the system don't care at all that they're screwing over so many kids because they still think they're right. they're basically setting up the 60% of kids who will struggle under this method to never be creative or have the patience for problem solving

like, is it acceptable for these people to justify this in english just because our language is such a hodgepodge? so it's too "hard" to do phonics for it????

another thought i had is that it must make learning a secondary language (for those that do in school or at home etc) really weird. phonics was so important when i was learning spanish in school, and i imagine it's just as important for many, many languages
